This blog is about sharing ideas and experiences on Sustainable Nordic Food. It was begun in 2018 through Nordplus cooperation between four higher education institutions: JAMK University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Kristianstad University (Sweden), Högskolan på Åland (Åland) and Metropolitan University College (Denmark). The main objective of the Nordplus project is to strengthen and develop the Nordic network of the HEIs providing education on sustainable food through express and teacher mobility. All participating countries focus on sustainability in their food-related strategies. All four HEIs share an interest in sustainable food and include it in their curricula.
In 2017 the Nordic Council of Minister adopted the Generation 2030 programme that will facilitate cooperation on the challenges faced jointly by the Nordic countries in achieving the UN’s Agenda 2030 and its 17 sustainable development goals. Sustainability is very much in focus also in the New Nordic Food programme.
This blog shares the experiences of the staff and students participating in the Nordplus mobilities during 2018-19. After the Nordplus project ends, the theme is still relevant and the blog continues.
